CO-CREATION PROJECT REFLECTION

The Co-creation project is like an whole review of the comprehensive knowledge and techniques we learned from the course but applied in a practical project. It’s significantly important as we literally learned how to implement those theories in designing a campaign for a real brand, which helps me understand those theories better in contextual practice.

During the co-creation practice, I realised each of us would be more conscious of the points either according to our working background or the most impressive points we paid attention to while we analysed a brand, for instance, when we chose the NGO brand, I was more conscious about the the content of social media and advertising, their targeting, positioning, target audience, segmentations and their needs,Isa concentrated more about the public vision related to the service, Yammie focused more about the brand audit and Chris conducted his professional knowledge of product design in our service design.so in the process of building the structure of the presentation, we continually reminded each other the new or important points from the previous lectures in every section during the communication, It’s quite beneficial for us to recall the theories we learned, and managed to contribute a bit of our design professions to the visual presentation.General speaking, I discovered my strength and weakness from the co-creation project, I learned and reviewed the knowledge in a different method from my teammates,.

Secondly, the project highly connects to my study in the course,I learned that when we design a campaign for a brand, besides the innovative ideas we tried to come up with, the most important is our understanding of the brand, whatever campaign we design should base on the brand audit, which includes our researches and understanding of the brand’s background, essence, mission, vision, attributes, customer-based brand equity, targeting, positioning etc.

Thirdly, communication is also the point of our study in this module, we all had different opinions during the discussion, I found myself weak in explaining myself verbally to my teammates, which I will try to improve in the future, however, I also consider the pros and cons as something precious in the discussion, it trained me in seeking the opportunities in disagreements and agreements that we can improve the design of our campaign, that’s something we are not able to do in the individual assignment.

After the Co-creation project, I get more interested in the theories we learned from the lectures and will review again, I think I will get different insights after this experience, and those theories will be the guide of my strategies in my own contextual practice in the future.
